Why steep-slope roofing needs a walkable underlayment
On pitches above 6/12, the underlayment surface becomes the primary walking platform for the crew. Smooth or glossy underlayments create a safety hazard — especially early in the morning when dew or frost is present. Crews either slow down dramatically or risk falls and injuries.
