Why UV exposure tolerance matters
On many jobsites — especially new construction and re-roofing projects with material delays — the underlayment sits exposed on the deck for days, weeks, or even months before the final roofing is installed. An underlayment with insufficient UV resistance degrades, loses tensile strength, and becomes brittle under prolonged sun exposure.
